Summary of Position

Responsible for the development, support, and production of external communications to our audiences (primarily members and providers) that informs and engages these groups, while also meeting regulatory requirements. Major external communications include onboarding materials (welcome kits, member ID card letters, handbooks) as well as ongoing communications and updates relating to quality programs, gaps in care and changes in benefits.


Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with internal customers to develop strategic communications that meet both corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Obtain direction from internal customers to ensure all communications are accurate, up to date and audience appropriate.
  • Draft creative copy while ensuring all member and provider communications meet corporate branding and editorial tandards and meet legal and compliance requirements.
  • Proofread all print and electronic copy before it goes live.
  • Ensure that all communications are consistent with regulatory and accreditation requirements (CMS, DOH, NCQA, etc.).
  • Apply a relentless attention to detail for the entire project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate data collection and release, ensuring that the data matches the original request.
  • Perform other communications-related tasks as assigned.
  • Produce status reports and keep track of schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Perform regular quality checks to ensure materials are produced to specifications.
  • Work with design and production teams to obtain cost estimates and ensure projects stay on budget.
  • Coordinate and oversee services provided by outside vendors such as printers and fulfillment houses.
  • Attain and apply a comprehensive knowledge of departmental and organizational procedures and adhere to them.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in English, communications, journalism, business or related health field (Required)
  • 3 – 5+ years of relevant, professional communications work experience (Required)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) (Required)
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple competing priorities (Required)
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse functional areas to develop/assist in developing effective communications (Required)
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audiences  (Required)
  • Attention to detail; ability to produce grammatically correct, cohesive content (Required)
  • Demonstrated project management skills (Required)
  • Excellent time-management skills (Required)
