Summary of Position

  • Responsible for building relationships, aligning IT initiatives with business strategy, and delivering value through technology.
     
  • Act as IT consultant and strategic liaison between the IT areas and the business units to provide highly technical guidance and solutions to complex IT problems. Translate business needs into technology solutions; align IT strategy with company goals; and ensure technology drives growth and efficiency. 
     
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships; define project scope; manage IT roadmaps; facilitate communication between technical and business teams; ensure IT investments deliver measurable value. 
     
  • Partner with key stakeholders of functional areas to improve business by challenging underlying assumptions regarding current business practices, processes, systems, and methodologies. 
     
  • Provide expertise and insight into the development of business solutions leveraging EmblemHealth’s IT resources


Principal Accountabilities

  • Establish executive-level credibility across the organization by enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology – driving to the right business solutions. 
     
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted advisor relationships with business leaders and stakeholders at all levels to address complex business issues. Collaborate with business leaders to ensure delivery of meaningful results from strategic initiatives.
     
  • Responsible for partnering with the business leaders to prioritize new initiatives based on the company’s strategic roadmap and enterprise architecture.
     
  • Develop and execute technology strategies that support overall business objectives.
     
  • Identify and understand business needs, surface opportunities, and shape technology initiatives; provide guidance and bridge the gap between the current and the desired state.
     
  • Lead/facilitate the translation of business needs into technical requirements and actionable IT deliverables, including cost, time, and resource usage/allocation estimates as well as projected ROI on the resources used; bridge communication gaps; define scope & business cases for projects.
     
  • Serve as a primary driver in the implementation of strategic initiatives and solutions. Apply industry experience and insight to identify, recommend and support initiatives to improve EmblemHealth's delivery of products and services.
     
  • Ensure IT solutions provide tangible value, improve efficiency, and support competitive advantage.
     
  • Oversee management of project lifecycles, from definition to delivery, and oversee external resources.
     
  • Proactively identify challenges and opportunities, advocating for innovation and best practices.
     
  • Promote awareness and understanding of IT best practices/standards and policies relative to infrastructure & applications as well as capabilities, systems safety and security.
     
  • Responsible for IT Demand/Capacity planning and Metrics reporting.

 


Qualifications

Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred


Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 10 – 12+ years of relevant IT experience, preferably in healthcare/business or consulting roles required
     
  • 5+ years of previous leadership experience required
     
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare data model required
     
  • Enterprise level strategic planning and analysis abilities and aptitude required
     
  • Broad understanding of how the core processes of healthcare payer organization operate required
     
  • Deep understanding of clinical, payment integrity and provider network management domains required
     
  • Experience analyzing business needs to develop and manage a business unit portfolio of initiatives based on market drivers, future regulatory mandates, and internal dependencies & constraints required
     
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal skills; ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts and build teams required
     
  • Ability to operate in high-pressure situations required
     
  • Demonstrated innovative approach to problem resolution required
     
  • Possess exceptional client management skills required
     
  • Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities required
